Welcome to Pukeko Preschool Mangere East
Why Choose Pukeko Preschool Mangere East?
Pukeko Preschool Mangere East is a friendly, loving, family owned and run preschool for children from birth to five years old. We have a reputation as a high quality early learning centre, with a focus on education and building confidence in our Tamariki through the Reggio Emilia philosophy, using a fun and well planned curriculum, activities and trips.
Here’s what the Education Review Office (ERO) had to say after speaking with our families: “Families enjoy the community feel and warmth of the staff at the centre… Families respond well to the culturally inclusive practices of staff, who are very supportive of new families.”
And this to say about our teachers:
“The well qualified teachers listen carefully to children and are responsive to their interests.” We operate Pukeko Preschool at the 80% and above qualified teacher ratio (the highest level defined by the Ministry of Education for ECE centres).
Our under-twos have their own individual curriculum with specialist teachers and separate learning areas both inside and outside the Preschool.
Our four-year-olds enjoy a special school preparation programme which includes practice in both literacy and numeracy understanding and skills to give them the knowledge required for a great transition to school.
Give us a call or stop in for a chat and a look around the Preschool – we would love to chat with you about your childcare needs!
Kia Ora Katau I am Izrana as a centre manager at Pukeko Preschool Mangere East. I was born in the beautiful Island of Fiji. I migrated to New Zealand 17 years ago with my family.
I gained my Bachelors in Teaching in ECE from Manukau Institute of Technology. I have been in early childhood education for the past 12 years and I am passionate about my job. I believe that everyday is different as it offers a path to different challenges which leads to a new journey of learning. I believe that equal opportunity should be provided to children to become a confident learner.
